For me, digital art is initially just an immaterial idea of shapes and color, with no limit to its size or dimensions, nothing to touch or even hang on the wall.
Many things can emerge from a digital creation: A picture, a video, a spatial sculpture or an interactive installation.
In most cases, it will be a picture and therefore similar to a painting.
But here, too, it can be huge, tiny or just a detail. It can be printed on paper, canvas, acrylic glass or whatever, but can also be displayed on monitors or projected onto a projector.
Printed, it could decorate millions of coffee cups, make more than one buyer happy in a limited edition or prove its uniqueness as a digital one-off.
Digital art can unfold in almost any number of variations.
